The Skin of Our Teeth
February 28 @ 7:30 pm| 110/95/85
Arin Arbus’s new staging of Thornton Wilder’s comic masterpiece The Skin of Our Teeth, the first major New York production since 1998. Wilder’s characters live in both the New Jersey suburbs and the Ice Age. Visual surprise combines with farce, burlesque, satire and brains (with allusions to the Bible, Homer, Plato and Finnegan’s Wake, to name a few) in Wilder’s groundbreaking story about a family—and humanity’s—ability to somehow survive wars between the sexes and countries as well as natural disasters.
Performances will take place February 14-19, 21, 23-26 and 28, March 1-4, 9-11 and 15-19 at 7:30pm; February 22 at 7:00pm; and February 25 & 26, March 4 & 5, 11 & 12, and 18 & 19 at 2pm.
